Hi, I'm Rachel. I'm a mom of 5 kids and I am passionate about documenting their lives.

My oldest two sons were officially diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in January of 2004--when they were 4 and 2, respectively--and it began to make sense why I could never get the studio settings of big chain photographers to work for them. We went for a long time without many really GOOD pictures of the boys, and as our family grew, I became more and more restless about this. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and learn photography! Once I had the skills to photograph my own sons in a way that they found comfortable, without harsh flashes or lots handling and posing, I wanted to share it with other families who faced the same challenges creating keepsakes of their family's life.

Along the way, I've discovered I just love photographing everyone! So what started as a very focused journey in chronicling my own family's story has become a passion and an artistic outlet.

Baptism pictures

This was a fun, totally spur-of-the-moment shoot. It was Miss B's birthday and my kids were at her birthday party. Once the festivities were over, B's mom and dad were chatting with me and my husband and B's dad suggested we do some photos for her baptism invitation.

So, 10 minutes later we went into their backyard (cool backyard, no?) and took some quick pictures and put together a nifty announcement.

Congratulations to B!
